I am a huge fan of Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. Their beers are some of the best in the beer industry, not just the craft sector and I recently posted about Sierra Nevada putting its flagship brew, the Pale Ale, into cans.
Well it’s time for more Sierra goodness. New for 2011 Sierra Nevada has come out with Hoptimum – “the biggest whole-cone IPA” Sierra Nevada has ever created.
From the brewmasters up in Chico, California comes this amazing IPA that’s bursting with flavor, bitterness(clocks in at 100 IBU) and a wonderful dank aroma – not to mention alcohol; 10.4% by volume. This 25oz(no, not 22oz like the rest of the bombers on the shelf) bad ass of a beer will kick you in the teeth and have you crawling back for a second lashing; so take it slow.
Sip, then quaff.
Hoptimum by Sierra Nevada is a golden-amber goddess which features German Magnum, Simcoe, Chinook and Citra hops as well as a couple proprietary varieties, and a combination of four different kinds of malts. Enjoy every minute of it. Then find yourself somewhere nice and quiet to lie down.
