Beautiful Beer: Rat City Beer by Richard Stewart

Edgy, rough and working-class – just a few of the words which come to mind when I look at the work of Richard Arthur Stewart. Undoubtedly, his work for Rat City Beer out of Allston, Massachusetts falls along the same lines and displays contemporary characteristics with that “blue-collar” aesthetics.

From the Designer:

“Drawing much influence from the prohibition era, the design and copy give a nod to the classics while still remaining relevant and contemporary. The brand reflects a blue-collar, D.I.Y. aesthetic that is steeped in tradition with respect for the craft of home brewing.”

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I just love the rat staring right in to the customers eyes as if to say “If you don’t buy this beer, I’ll kick the living shit outta ya!”

Make sure to check Richard’s full portfolio over at his website, CommonerInc.
